Certified wood is timber and wood based products that sourced from well-managed plantations and natural forests as well as controlled and non-controversial sources.
Certified wood is independently verified by third party auditors as being from these sources.
The Green Building Council of Australia recognise timber and wood products that are certified against internationally recognised standards developed and/or endorsed by FSC and PEFC as being of equal standing. Timber and wood products from both schemes are eligible for 1 timber credit point in the Green Building Couincil of Australia's GreenStar rating scheme.
